Taking the EFT Cycle into the Bedroom: The Addition of Sex to the Cycle
The San Diego Center for EFT, with TRIEFT Alliant, invites you to join Dr. Sarah Nunnink for an advanced training in bringing the topic of Sex into the EFT cycle.
Sex and sexual intimacy are presenting issues for many couples. However, sex and sexual connection can be challenging topics for couples to address. The techniques of Emotionally Focused Therapy can help couples engage and deepen in restorative conversations around sexual intimacy. In this training, attendees will learn specific assessment strategies and treatment techniques to further support clinical work with couples in which sex, sexual trauma, and sexual connection are presenting issues. Drawing from her extensive research and clinical expertise, Dr. Nunnink will help therapists develop specific techniques in treating sexual intimacy issues in couple therapy. She will cover how to use experiential deepening through episodic memory review and portrayals to provide corrective emotional experiences for partners in which sexual trauma influences their sexual connection. Clinicians will also learn how to assess and engage partners in which experiential numbing and emotional disconnection is negatively impacting their sex life. Case presentations will help attendees know how to use their knowledge of the EFT cycle to map couple’s sexual relationship and take the EFT cycle “into the bedroom.”
