Diving Deeper into Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy
About Basic Core Skills
This streamlined EFCT Core Skills training is customized for clinicians seeking a condensed version of the core skills advanced training. The trainer prioritizes and provides the practical content over the experiential elements and assigns participation in study & practice groups with members of the Core Skills Bangalore clinical team to receive the experiential elements and practice designed to achieve the necessary skills of effective EFT.
The formal course instruction lead Dr. Jorgensen is held every other week and features lectures, dyadic presentations, tape demonstrations, clinical consultation and structured exercises.
Clinical skill practice exercises (role plays) are done in small groups, along with some tape reviews with the support of the Bangalore Clinical team on the weeks between trainer instruction.
The first six trainer lead course meetings will focus on Stage 1 of EFT – Deescalation.
The last five trainer lead course meetings will focus on Stage 2 of EFT- restructuring bond and the two final change events.
Attendance meets the ICEEFT course requirement (CEs provided by Alliant International University)* when applying for Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist designation.
Participants of the Core skills will spend time learning the 5 moves of the tango, watching it being executed in EFT videos. At the end of this 24 hr training and 15 hours of practice group and home study you will have the knowledge and experience to complete a thorough EFT couple assessment and the skill to begin EFT Stage 2 treatment.
The only outstanding requirement for Certification after attending the Basic Core Skills Training is eight hours of supervision and demonstrating competence in the model. The application process is described on The Path to ICEEFT Therapist Certification in EFT.
When you sign up for the course you are committing your intention to complete the whole course.
